I think I know what you are talking about, it is like an internal antennea or antennea enhancer something like that, I remember seeing the commercials a long long time ago too.

We have a little bit of signal in a few key locations (JWAC parking lot, in front of Foodland, at PHS, on top of some of the mountains, etc.), but not near enough IMO. We need a tower in the North section of the county badly. You should be able to call from anywhere along US23, but that doesn't exist right now and I've not heard any plans for expanding the coverage to better cover our area either. My aunt just turned her phone back in to Alltel now too long ago because she could rarely get a signal either near her home or on her way to work.
